Dr. Laurie believes that each individual should live a life of true happiness and wellness. Wellness is a life-long journey of discovery that encompasses a whole integration of mind, body, and spirit. True wellness is understanding that all aspects of your life work together to create harmony, the best way to achieve harmony is to live in the present moment.

Did you know that change never ends?  Sometimes people assume that there is a level that he or she may reach that will allow them to cease the need for change, the problem is that when the person feels he or she has reached that level, not only is the assumption wrong but it is at that time he or she is ready for departure from this earth.  Change is an ongoing process of trial and error, elimination of things and people from our life, an evolution of ourselves continually, the process of altering our lifestyles:  financially, emotionally, mentally, socially and spiritually.

Correcting habits is a process all on its own but in order to do so, examine how, where, when and why you began an annoying habit, what did you feel, what did you see, what did you hear? Most habits begin from a place of inner turmoil like smoking, drinking, cursing, overeating, watching television, gossiping, neglecting of one’s self and the like.  The habit you want to change begins in the mind.

The real challenge in change is admitting things we don’t like that we do.  Once you can admit it you do it, it is easier to change.

What are you willing or unwilling to let go in order to accomplish the things or become the person you desire?  Many times we hold onto superficial things and those things hinder our ability to grow.

The power of change is often under estimated and underappreciated, you can have the ability to become the best you can possibly be.

Living in the present moment allows one to achieve a life or true harmony and wellness. When an individual can be consciously aware of their thoughts and feelings throughout every moment, they are truly being present and enjoying each moment that this wonderful life has to offer. Life is meant to be a joyful, exciting experience that so often is missed since we spend so much time living either in the past or the future.
